High Sierra Guest Tent Structures

Bearpaw High Sierra Camp, California

Brian spent a year working at Bearpaw High Sierra Camp, building custom timber-framed guest tent platforms and structural enclosures in rugged, high-altitude terrain.

Each structure was constructed on uneven granite and forested slopes, requiring precision leveling, reinforced framing, and structural stabilization in an environment where conditions are extreme, and materials must endure.

This work required not only carpentry skills, but resilience, problem-solving, and structural judgment in a remote backcountry setting.

We're a team of adventurers, thinkers, and doers, building with integrity and clarity.

Each platform required careful assessment and stabilization before framing could begin.

Working directly on granite slopes and forested terrain, platforms were reinforced and leveled before custom framing systems were installed.

Once the base was secure, timber framing was raised and aligned against the mountain backdrop. Posts, rafters, and bracing were set with precision to ensure durability in high winds and seasonal extremes.

Structural Foundation

Framing Progress

Building in remote terrain requires more than carpentry skill — it demands sound judgment, steady hands, understanding of structure, and the ability to adapt to the environment rather than fight it.

This experience informs the structural integrity and craftsmanship we bring to every Laurel & Pine project today.
