Born and raised just over the mountain in Candler, NC, Brian is the Founder and Principal of Laurel & Pine. With early studies in architecture and a foundation forged within his family’s construction business, he developed a disciplined eye for structure, proportion, and execution that now defines his leadership in the field.
Brian oversees pre-construction strategy, project lifecycle management, and on-site execution. With a background spanning residential and corporate construction, finish carpentry & millwork, hospitality development, and operations leadership, he moves fluidly from concept to launch — visualizing solutions, drafting them digitally, and delivering with calm precision. Steady as timber, exacting in standard.
Service-driven at his core, Brian leads each engagement with discretion, craftsmanship, and accountability — qualities especially valued in legacy mountain homes and estate properties. Beyond work, he can be found on the trails of Pisgah filming small adventures for his nieces, traveling with Jen, or preparing a remarkably good tri-tip.
A fourth-generation Brevard native, Jen is the CEO and pragmatic visionary behind Laurel & Pine. With a career spanning environmental education, C-Suite executive support, large-scale conference and trade show orchestration, government contracting, floral and event design, and food & beverage management, she brings both polish and precision to every client experience.
As Laurel & Pine's organizational architect and intuitive orchestrator, Jen oversees the front office, marketing, and client communications. She is often the warm, steady voice on the other end of the line — equal parts efficiency catalyst and hospitality connoisseur. Years spent supporting company Presidents and Vice Presidents sharpened her discretion, responsiveness, and ability to anticipate needs before they arise.
Like the mountain laurels on the Blue Ridge, Jen blooms where she is planted — bringing structure, warmth, and a deeply personal touch to every client experience. Outside of work, you'll find her hiking with Brian and her two daughters, exploring culinary gems, or planning the next adventure.
